Couples · from $200

Mississauga gets dismissed as suburban by photographers who haven't really walked it. The Port Credit harbour at 7 PM in July, with the marina rigging in silhouette and the lighthouse glowing — that's a different kind of light from anything you find in Toronto. I shot Mizan and Nadia there last summer. The whole gallery feels like a quiet film.

For couples sessions specifically, Mississauga has a few advantages over downtown that matter more than people admit. Parking is free at most parks. The waterfront pathways are wider, less crowded, and you can move between sun and shade without hiking three kilometres. Streetsville's heritage core gives you brick-and-vine textures you can't get anywhere on the Toronto subway map. And Rattray Marsh has woodland depth and golden hour light that rivals anywhere in the GTA.

Most of my Mississauga couples shoots run 60 minutes across two nearby spots. We start somewhere with quiet movement — usually a path or grassy area to warm up — and finish at the location where you want the strongest images, when the light is most generous. I send a wardrobe and timing guide a week before the session so the day itself feels effortless.

Mississauga session questions

Is Port Credit better than the Toronto waterfront for couples photos?

It's different, not better. Port Credit has fewer crowds, working harbour textures, and a small-town intimacy. Toronto offers iconic skyline backdrops. I usually recommend Port Credit for couples who want the imagery to feel personal rather than landmarked.

When does Rattray Marsh look best for an autumn couples session?

Mid-October has the most colour. The trail through the marsh stays mostly shaded, so light is even and editorial-feeling all day — not just at golden hour. This makes Rattray flexible for weekday afternoon sessions.

How long should we plan for a couples session in Mississauga?

Plan for about 90 minutes door-to-door. The session itself is 60 minutes plus 15 minutes to settle in and 15 to move between two spots. We don't rush — but we also don't drag it out.

Is parking easy at Port Credit and Rattray Marsh?

Yes at both. Port Credit Memorial Park has paid lots that are rarely full outside summer Saturdays. Rattray Marsh has a small free lot off Bexhill Road. I include parking notes in the wardrobe guide before the session.

Can we include our dog in the session?

Absolutely. Most Mississauga lakefront parks allow leashed dogs. Some couples bring their dog for the first 20 minutes for the storytelling shots, then we continue without — that flexibility works well.

Is there a travel fee for Mississauga sessions?

No. Mississauga is in my regular service area along with Toronto, Etobicoke, Oakville, Burlington, and Vaughan. Couples sessions start at $200 regardless of which of these cities we shoot in.
